GIFhit

Request debugging utility for Google Analytics™

GIFhit launches into the world!

After two months of development work I’m happy to announce that the first public release of GIFhit is now available to download for Windows systems. Please do grab yourselves a copy and try it out, as I’m sure you’ll enjoy what it has to offer! I’d like to give a quick shout out to my colleagues at Fresh Egg, and to Tara Dunn at Location3 Media for helping me to test and refine the program to its current version (1.2.2) behind closed doors. Thank you all for your involvement in making the program possible!

The current release is feature complete for the time being, and although it is only available for Windows systems at the moment I will be looking into developing a Mac version or browser equivalent over the coming months. While I believe I’ve encompassed the vast majority of parameters that can be sent by a Google Analytics __utm.gif request, there may be one or two that have slipped through the cracks. If you do happen do spot any while using the application, drop me a line and I will check them out and get them added into the application where necessary. Any other questions or feedback is also quite welcome!

I’ll be posting to this blog not just about new releases of GIFhit itself, but also any relevant news and updates regarding Google Analytics, as well as any tips & tricks that I can offer to help you get the most out of your Analytics reports, so please do feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed and keep up with me.

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy the first release of GIFhit!
